Press Release for the participation of IRTEA in the Erasmus+ Project for Youth “NEET to WORK” in Bistrita, Romania

The Institute of Research and Training on European Affairs ( IRTEA) on the grounds of the Erasmus+ programme for youth, as partner  orgainzation, takes part in the key action 1 “NEET to WORK” Youth Exchange, which is organized  by Asociaţia Bistriţa Business Academy(BBA), in Bistrita Romania

The first activity of the project was an advanced planning visit ,that took place between 14-15 September 2019, in Bistriţa in Romania. During the APV, participants and group leaders of the partner organizations met in Bistrita in order to get more acquainted  with the venue,to  discuss the daily activities and plan the study visits that will occur during the youth exchange. An emphasis was put on developing the learning experience of the participants, according to the needs and expectation of the participants themselves. The participants of the APV  also focused, on the dissemination of the project and during the sessions a dissemination plan was finalized, in cooperation with the participants and team leaders.

The participants of the APV had a city tour of Bistriţei, during which they had the chance to  admire the medieval architecture of the city, the Evanghelical Church and the Municipal. During the evening Bistriţa Business Academy  organized a Romanian theme Barbecue, with local food and other deilghts.

NEET to Work project will take place between 1-11 October 2019, in Bistriţa, Romania and will bring together youngsters from countries that have both a high and low percentage of NEETs in order to understand the measures, the policies and the personal development tools available for them”Neet to Work”youth exchange is organized by Asociaţia Bistrita Business Academy and the partners of the project are Italy, Lithuania, Slovenia, Greece and Sweden. The participants are young people aged between 18-30 years, with a mixture of experience and some of them come from with backgrounds with fewer opportunities

During the project the participants will have the opportunity to learn through a non-formal approach how to gather new skills that are important for their future careers. The activities will be focused on solving tasks in multicultural teams, but also on an individual level, providing a valuable mixture of experiences that will be a stepping stone in the participants future career. During the youth exchange the participants will have study visits, to the largest employer in the region, the multinational company LEONI, to public institutions like the Unemployment Office but also to a successful startup, one of the most appreciated vineyards in the region.

The participants will have the chance to hear and interact with successful young entrepreneurs from Bistrita, but will also understand the steps needed to be taken in order to find their dream job.

During the evenings each national team will have the opportunity to present the sending country during the intercultural evenings. Each country will show interesting facts about the main national attractions, their local culture, local customs, traditions, music, dances and gastronomy.
