The European Information Center Europe Direct ELIAMEP, announces four (4) scholarships to students, to participate in the EUropa.S conference 2017, the largest simulation of European Institutions in Greece. EUropa.S., for the 8th consecutive successful year, will be held on 7-10 April 2017, at the premises of the University of Piraeus by the Institute of Research & Training on European Affairs – I.R.T.E.A., with the support of the European Parliament’s Office in Greece, the Representation of the European Commission in Greece, the School of Economics, Business and International Studies of the University of Piraeus, as well as, other public and private entities.
EUropa.S. is a unique simulation by implementing the main pillars of the European Institutions. EUropa.S. takes place in a high academic level in the Greek area, with a pan-European range and extremely high impact on the student community, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The contribution of the Scientific Managers Group of the conference, which validates the scientific and fidelity of this simulation, is very important. It is about a “role play” that simulates, the processes and functions of the European Parliament and the European Council, the Council of the European Union, the European Commission and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
The participants, in the framework of the simulation and during the 4 days of the conference, will have the chance to take the position of a Member of the European Parliament, Head of State or Government, EU Finance Minister, European Commissioner, Judge or Ombudsman, Member of the Crisis Group, Journalist, Translator or Member Auxiliary Staff. The participants aim to reach a joint decision through the ongoing negotiation process, with ultimate goal, to promote the development of the European construction, while the working languages of the conference are English and French for the DROI Committee.
The “family” of the institution, has accumulated more than 2,100 participating students in the last seven years. At the same time, it highlights and rewards the best participants in order to encourage their academic development. By the end of the EUropa.S. 2017, participants will have the opportunity to specialize and gain valuable experience in negotiating within an environment of conflicting interests. At the same time, they will learn about the European Institutions and their way of functioning, through active participation in the whole simulation process.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation in the Conference after a successful attendance.

The scholarship cover the participation fee (€ 45). The fee, will be paid directly from Europe Direct ELIAMEP to the organizers of the EUropa.S. An important condition to apply for the scholarship is to apply and pay the aforementioned fee in the EUropa.S 2017, account, so the applicant will be considered as a participant.
Students of the following universities are eligible to apply:
– National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (Departments: Law School, Communication & Mass Media, Economics, Political Science & Public Administration, Turkish Studies & Modern Asian Studies)
– Panteion University of Athens (Departments: International, European & Regional Studies, Political Science & History, Communication, Media & Culture).
– University of Piraeus (Departments: International & European Studies, Economics, Business Administration, Maritime Studies).
– Athens University of Economics and Business (Departments: International & European Economic Studies, Economics, Organization & Business Administration).
The selection of the scholars will be based on Excellence, by a Commission set up by Europe Direct ELIAMEP and I.R.T.E.A., and the winners will be announced on the Europe Direct website of ELIAMEP, as well as, the EUropa.S. website.

Transcript of Record, in which the average grade will be clearly written or a Certificate of Studies by the Secretary of the of the Department, with a clear reference of the average grade.
Language Certificates, only one of each foreign language and confirmation of the holder’s higher study certificate.
