The Institute of Research & Training on European Affairs (I.R.T.E.A.), a leading think tank in Greece and Europe and Member of the Executive Academic Board of the ESDC since 2015, organizes the 1st European Security and Defence Forum 2018 (ESDF 2018), under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC).
ESDF 2018 is a high-level conference under the topic: “Debate on the future of European Security & Defence: from vision to action” held in Athens, Greece on May 11th – 12th, 2018.
Given the fact that Europe is in a crossroads with its Security and Defence being challenged from migration crisis, BREXIT in its full extent and the terrorism on the rise, the ESDF is the beginning of a productive and high-level dialogue between distinguished Academics, Experts, Training providers, Officials and Practitioners, as well as Ministerial Representatives at a National and European level in the field of European Security and Defence. The ESDF of 2018 will offer an in-depth analysis on CFSP/CSDP perspectives, the challenges ahead, the ongoing crises and existing threats in the field, with a light to the future of the policy and the role of EU in a changing world. I.R.T.E.A. is a leading think tank in Greece and Europe experienced in innovative trainings and activities aiming to foster knowledge and dialogue in EU affairs and policies. Since 2012 it serves as an expertise training provider on CSDP in military Institutions and is a Member of the Executive Academic Board of ESDC since 2015.
Throughout the two-day conference and the seven sessions that will be held regarding the topic of the Forum, the participants will have the opportunity to benefit from the panel discussions with experts, exchange views, network and debate with National and European Experts in the field of CFSP/CSDP. ESDF 2018 is open to individuals, Institutions or Companies with a high interest and relevance to the field of the Forum, and willing to share expertise and influence with colleagues.
